In his first speech before the United Nations, German Chancellor Oaf Scholz pressed serious charges against Russian President Vladimir Putin. Referring to Russia's attack on Ukraine, Scholz said before the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, that “ai does not destroy (...) In his speech, Chancellor Scholz recalled, that UN member states are responsible for protecting human rights. Scholz called on the Chinese government to implement former UN Human Rights Commissioner Michelle Bachelet's recommendations for the situation of the Turkish Muslim minority. Beijing denies the charge that hundreds of thousands of people in reform camps are held in this province. Regarding respect for human rights, Scholz also cited countries like Afghanistan, North Korea, Syria, Iran and Belarus.

In addition, the German Chancellor called for reforming the Security Council and a permanent country of Germany in the UN's highest instance. “German is ready to take on more responsibility, as a permanent member and non-permanent member country in the years 1927/28.” The Federal Republic of Germany is the second largest sponsor of the UN system, Scholz stressed.
