Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, declared today that with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, they are absolutely in agreement that Serbia must not only recognise Kosovo but also apologise.
In a TV interview from New York, Rama spoke about relations with Kosovo's prime minister, while adding that “with Kurti we do not agree when this should happen”.
“I think recognition and apology are the end of a process. The process of recognition does not begin, and with the request for an apology”, Rama added.
Rama said reports with Albin Kurti are fantastic.
We actually have very sweet, very friendly communication. Sweet communication means that we talk extremely much about different subjects, face opinions about not the same political philosophies. Communication is really sweet, brotherly, friendly. It's the way it should be, a very civil and friendly report. We don't have to agree on everything. We disagree with the approach to Serbia, the way we should go to recognition and apology, we disagree on the open Balkans, but these do not prevent us from agreeing to a lot of”, Rama said.
He informed that on October 12th he has received the right to address the Council of Europe in one word.
This is very sensitive. The Council of Europe has written a very gloomy page adopting Dick Martin's report. Today that report has completely dropped. I will address the Council based also on the fact that Albania's parliament has by consensus passed a resolution rejecting Dick Martin's resolution. The Council of Europe must distance itself from that criminal report that has done much harm to Kosovo. This is our” initiative, Rama said.
