Who is playing the Kosovo National? Abigail Sokoli relates how to make decisions to football players

The topic of players leaving Kosovo's national population has been restored in recent days to go to other nationals, in this case to Albania.

Adrion Pajaziti and Medon Berisha were the last two players to leave Kosovo's national, to join Albania, with what many reactions there were, writes. Periscope.

But besides that was Albanian-born football player Ardon Jashari, who chose to play for Switzerland instead of Kosovo.

Last Sunday, he received an invitation from Murat Yakin to join Switzerland for matches in the League of Nations, against Spain on September 24th, and against the Czech Republic after three days.

Why is this happening, who is to blame for the footballers, managers or the Kosovo Football Federation?

Periscop contacted football connoisseur in our country, ex-training and professor, Bobbie Sokoli.

Sokoli initially said that the National Obligation of Sportsmen is to present the country or the nation they belong to, but that managers are the ones who influence their selection.

“Perhaps the only country in the world where Albanian footballers choose to play for many states except two Albanian states -- Albania and Kosovo -- also play for other countries such as Northern Macedonia, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Germany. This shows (in political terms the unresolved Albanian question) how divided we are”.

The National Objection of Sportsmen is to present the country or nation they belong to ... which means they decide on the basis of the rules which Albanian state will be presented (Albania or Kosovo). In most cases managers are the ones who decide which country their sport will present. The managers have their interest and often decide that their athlete will play for the state that is best ranked among FIFA and UEFA rankings. And very often the erring and sportswoman is denied the right to protect the colour of the nation belonging to”, the Kosovo coach said initially.

He said further that the athlete must decide for himself which state to present and that he should not introduce any other country, but only if he has no choice or will receive an invitation from his country.

“The athlete must decide on his own within norm acts which state will present Albania or Kosovo in this case. By no means should I think about introducing any other state, only on occasions when it is not invited by Albania and Kosovo. It will be, he goes on.

And finally, the professor said that if we become a national, all these problems will disappear.

When we have a country, a national will disappear and we will be present at every European and world event in the football”, Sokoli concluded.
