Education Minister Arberie Nagavci has reiterated calls to teachers to start teaching in schools, saying how Government will always be close to teachers and other education workers to overcome any difficulties. Nagavci said that with the new wage project, education workers for the first time are being treated with dignity [...]
Nagavci said that with the new draft for the salary, education workers for the first time are being treated with dignity by law and will have the highest cofficiency than they ever had.
“In the law on wages cancelled by the Constitutional Court, the basic salary of a high school teacher has been about 26% of the highest salary in the country, while with the new bill is 32% of the highest salary; the salary of a teacher in primary and lower secondary education has been 23-24.5% of the highest pay, while now it is 31%; etc.”, Navci wrote in a Facebook post.
The minister said education workers have not only been treated with dignity, but also “has improved the position of those who were discriminated against the past” law.
There's no turning aside from class teachers 1-5 and lower salary for them, as well as for secretaries, librarians, school psychologists and professors who were being treated ill in the last <x1) law.
The Public Sector Pay Bill is currently in public hearing. This bill offers much more than the representatives of the SBASK agreed to in the latest” law.
I invite all teachers in Kosovo to start teaching and at the same time make their contribution with comments and suggestions, so that we can get a better bill on wages. We will always be close to teachers and other education workers to overcome any difficulties and together to make sure that our children offer quality education”, the minister concluded.
