Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Ganimette Musliu has indicated that differences in content and representation were reasons she did not participate in the PDK Programme Convention this Saturday.
Musliu, in a long post on the social Facebook network, has said he can become part of a convention where former party founders Hashim Thaci and Kadri Wessel are not mentioned.
I do not see it reasonable to become a number at a convention that does not say a single word against the injustices being committed to former elites and former founders, PDK and Kosovo pride Hashim Thaci, and Kadri Wessel. The PDK has been shining in silence in this direction, creating confusion and uncertainty in electorate”, Musliu said.
The MP, among other things, says she saw a convention today that favoured people not knowing who she is. The PDK, while considering that this approach will be devastating for any future cause.
This approach to early and more devout PDK activists will become the biggest and most destructive obstacle to any future cause; Not just that of girls and women”.
Musliu's full response:
When flight is targeted for reform.
For the sake of the hundreds of messages I've received today from PDK activists and activists and high media interest, for my non-responsion to the „PDK programming Convention“, I feel a personal obligation to make a public statement.
My absence today has to do with my disagreement with the way the Convention is organized, as in time as in content, as in representation.
Today we saw a Convention, without critical voices and without a resume of the processes through which the Democratic Party of Kosovo has passed.
Today, we saw a convention with a pathetic 50-50 slogan, which is really just meant to sound great, but we didn't see a concrete plan on how this 50-50 goal will be realised.
Today, we saw a convention that favored people who don't even know who it is. The PDK while real activists were called to publicize their Fcbuk photos.
Anyone who takes the effort and analyzes it, which cannot be called the Convention alone, no doubt concludes that under any circumstances the tendency of certain individuals to control everything and to exclude anything that does not suit them.
This approach to earlier and more devout PDK activists will become the biggest and most destructive obstacle to any future cause; Not just girls and women.
In the PDK, as well as in other parties without exception, women and girls must be silent, adapt and submit because they alone are respected by certain individuals, which unfortunately these individuals today lead political parties in Kosovo. This is a situation that everyone knows, but not clearly promoted.
Such approach to women activists and the creation of such a mentality towards women in general seriously undermines the cause of dignified representation of women in politics and public life, so it is unacceptable for me to think that, contrary to these developments, to be silent just because today I hold an important position as deputy and as chairman of the Commission for monitoring AKI, which someone can assess as a comfort zone. I, on my political path, never chose the path of uniformity.
I cannot afford to silence myself when I witness that every day in the name of reforms history, tradition, our political identity, and our human dignity are being destroyed.
The reforms are welcome, but are not reformed by a party denying the values it was founded on, the values it governed and rebuilt the country. Each party should open up and become houses where the new generations will engage, but without denying the two-decade contribution of activists and Kurds who were the pride and pride of the Party and Kosovo.
Reform takes place gradually, open and frank discussion in the party's leading bodies and developing the best strategies, respecting meritocracy and respecting the dignity of the possessive quarts. But the opposite is happening. The Democratic Party, from a Party of National and Building Values, is turning a „Party-Prone “of a small interest group, which with each north aims to flee its identity.
I don't see a number of reasons at a convention that does not say a single word against the injustices being done to former leaders and founders, the pride of the PDK and Kosovo Hashim Thaci and Kadri Weselin. The PDK has excellent silence in this direction, creating confusion and uncertainty in electorates.
Recent polls are a serious measure of PDK's neglect of organs. Today, polls take us third place, and we're going on like this. I don't even want to think about where we're gonna end up in the next election. We've tried it quietly asking for internal debate, but the current PDK headship (close leadership because everything is in informative darkness) has ignored any attempts to enjoy themselves in their current „lavdine“. Electorate of The PDK, left alone and saw a clear vision of the Party, so for the sake of those hundreds of thousands of voters and true PDK supporters, I cannot take responsibility for the silence. I will stand firm in the PDK and continue to make strong opposition against the ruling party, but will continue to make opposition to devastating phenomena within our Party. I will try to be the voice of those who are not heard in PDK. I owe this to all those who love and support the Democrat Party at any time and under any circumstances. Along with them, I will stand firm in the PDK, but will never again be silent before destructive and harmful actions for the Party and for Kosovo. If open and frank debate and constructive criticism will take place on me personally remains to be seen; But I'll be comforted if in the future women and girls will take courage and raise their voices for content and real equality.
With the utmost respect for each and every one that the Party views as their home and commits to its return to power, I hope
The PDK's leadership will reflect and start real reforms by primarily respecting our meritiocracy and identifying values.
At last the voter The PDK will assess each of us's actions.
