Health Minister Rifat Latifi with laughter says that establishing the Executive Commission for Health under the Government of Kosovo does not diminish his post as minister at all.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti will head this commission.
Latifi, in an interview for KosovoPress, says Kosovo health is currently in crisis, so he sees the establishment of this commission extremely necessary.
“Absolutely not. Many countries around the world have Health Comition, a health commission. In reality when there are various crises creating such commissions, we are in crisis... health does not belong only to the minister of health, nor to the finance minister, no minister, it belongs to the entire government device. Unless we are all in one room, we talk about the same things, we agree on the same strategy, we can develop the health of Kosovo. I am a minister today, I may not be tomorrow, but this commission of any minister, any prime minister, should continue to exist because it helps health, as the prime minister, Albin Kurti is the leader of several other commissions, so it is absolutely not the faint of my function, I think it is the empowerment of my” function, he said.
In order to stop the financial bloodshed of patients, Minister Latifi said they are building the new hospital infrastructure, but are also making health reforms.
“We have a strategy that is constantly adding content, today is ten months since I've come to the top of Kosovo's health, we have medium- and long-term plans, at the same time managing the day's crises... we're building the new hospital infrastructure, we're buying the most modern equipment that our doctors have to have, we're simultaneously reforming the specialisations that in extraordinary crisis, and we've started with subs specializations of 22 our doctors and surgeons, to build health care so that patients can stop the bloodshed of the country (4)x>
Health Minister Rifat Latifi has warned that within two weeks they will open the contest for 30 specialists.
We didn't open new specializations for anyone, until two years ago we opened 1500 people for a while. Within two weeks we will open the competition for 30 specialists and then each month we will continue to open competitions for various specializations” said the health head.
When asked about health insurance, Minister Latifi said the issue will also be discussed at the Executive Commission for Health.
“It's part of those six points, I haven't talked about these points, let me come up with my proposals, with his suggestions and then we talk, about all the points you can do with the healthcare industry, we have working groups at all and in administrative instructions, in the legislative plan six laws, sublaws, 18 administrative guidelines, so health workers are very busy trying to change the Kosovo health page”, he stressed.
