Kurt comes to an ultimatum for strike from the private sector: Wait till next week

The Private Sector Union urges the Government of Kosovo that the workers of this sector be directly subsidised by the state. This is because according to them, 95 percent of private sector workers will not be able to obtain these tools. They also addressed this request through an official letter to Prime Minister Albin Kurti. However, even after seven days, the Private Sector Union has received no response from the chief executive.
We have actually received no information if our request is accepted. The very fact that when you do not return a positive response automatically implies that the request is denied. So we can understand that yesterday it's been eight days since we've officially written them and they haven't returned any answers, we consider that they want to quietly get this”, said Front Yusuf Azemi, chairman of the Private Sector Union.
However, according to him, private sector workers will not give up their demands.
Azemi says they will wait until 20 September 2022, then they will consider whether they will go on strike.
“We have made the decision to wait until 20 this month, and to see how both sides and Government and the workers of this sector are doing. If they decide to go on strike. But it is seen that conditioning has been deliberately made, as they are not doing their best towards private sector workers”, Azemi said.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti had indicated that starting this month for public officials would share the additional 50 euros, while for workers in public enterprises will share the once amount of 100 euros. The private sector workers are said to subvention wage increases in just three months.
He announced that for pensioners they would share the once amount of 100 euros (in October), meanwhile, families in social assistance would support by doubling the amount of assistance for a month
