Kosovo MPs in Brussels for visa liberalisation, Netherlands still not convinced

MPs from the Kosovo Assembly are currently staying at the European helm in Brussels, where different meetings are being held to convince Eurodeputs and other EU representatives to liberalise visas for Kosovo. Rzazarta Krasniqi, one of the deputies in Brussels, shows that the Netherlands is the state that has not yet been convinced of this process.
The “is a major success for Kosovo that for the first time has entered the visa liberalisation agenda, which will be held on 13 October. When we were in the Czech Presidency, we received support even there, and we also expect this process to end in favour of Kosovo”, LDK deputy Rzazarta Krasniqi has declared.
However, MP Krasniqi shows that some states still have to work with.
The states that the government needs most to work with are the Netherlands, as we still don't have a green light that they will support us in this process, while in other countries, we have seen that France in this process has given a little bit of indifference that it will support us, but the Netherlands remains skeptical”, she has followed.
High expectations for visa liberalisation, they also have in the Group for Jury and Political Studies.
“Since the Czech Presidency has already been activated, we are very positive that the Council of Europe is willing to vote for visa liberalisation for Kosovo. If that happens, then all that needs to be done is to change the annex of the 539/2001 regulation, which lists the countries that need to be equipped with visas before entering the Schengen” area, Arbre Loja of GLPS said.
Loja, who runs GLPS, shows that according to the experiences of states in the past, this whole process is expected to last for about six months.
If I'm not mistaken, for other countries it's taken up to six months. So if we have a decision in October, we can expect maybe in late February or early March with free movement later on, but that I didn't want to speculate, I'm just based on what we've seen in other cases”, she's coming.
The Czech EU presidency has already sent letters to member states as a warning for discussions on visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
The discussion is expected to take place on 13 October, on the day of the European Council's Co-operative Group meeting.
