KEK Union in protest next week, no strikes ruled out

The chairman of this Union, Nexhat Llumnica, says they will initially organise protests to pressure to accept their demands, while showing the reasons for this protest. “We've made some requests since last year and those requests have not been taken into account in fact we talked, negotiated but never [...]

“We have made some requests since last year and those requirements have not really been taken into account, negotiate, but they have never been realised, and now on April 14th we have not had a meeting with the manager, nor with the KEK Board, even though we have written that we should meet with the requirements, but there has been no response, nor an invitation to the meeting, and we are obliged to move into some form of ill-being that no one should continue on on the basis of union status and the law that allows us to protest all these things to rerun, he said.

In Tv 1, he says they will initially stage protests next week and that they do not hold a strike because of the difficult energy situation in the country.

We'll ask the manager once again to meet and we don't want to go to protest after the executive headship meeting next week. So in case we don't have meetings, we don't have negotiations then the only way they want it is union pressure under the union statute... Protests must be staged next week”, he added.

But, the top unionist stresses that if their demands are not met by a certain term, they will go on strike.

According to him, the strike will initially be warning where participants will be workers who are not directly linked to the workplace, thus going on a total strike later.

The “should initially be warning, then go on a total strike but I'm inclined to believe that we have dialogue and we've chosen demands without this strike because we have no desire in any form since we've never done it before, we have understanding sometimes not because we've always had understanding, not because it's respect for the law not why wages are raised, but it's inflation, but maybe these demands and the membership of workers don't last... At first, workers who are only in the first shift that are not directly linked to the workplace are going to strike in terms of production, but we can't say how the strike will turn out, he added.

In addition, Llumnica suggests that among their demands are rising wages compared to inflation, as well as improving working conditions.
