The American teachers' union(AFT) numbers 1.7 million members and has voiced support for SBASK over their demands.
“On behalf of 1.7 million AFT members, we support Kosovo teachers and your union efforts for salaries, respect and recognition. We are honored to cooperate with the SBASK and proudly appreciate your dedicated service to your membership. In these extraordinary times, as governments in both our countries continue to push off larger burdens of educational work, but offer less resources, we refuse to allow teachers to be blamed for an economic crisis they did not create. Teachers and their public sector brothers and sisters are the spirit of their communities, and they deserve the right to fair wages, greater appreciation and gratitude. We know that in the coming days, members of the SBASK will protect their rights, and we stand with you in full solidarity”, it is expressed in support paper on behalf of all of this union's membership, AFT head Randi Weingarten.
