Mitrovica's chairman and former Finance Minister Bedri Hamza has said that the 20% increase in salaries and pensions is not an increase but an equal of inflation.
It has called for increased salaries in the public sector and rapidly approved and the implementation of the Law for the Salaries begins.
Hamza has estimated that wage hikes do not harm the state budget in large measure.
The growth of 20% mass wages is not growth, the 20% mass growth is not, but indexing, even, in relation to price hikes. What to talk about growth over 20%, then we're talking about salary increases”, Hamza said in T7.
Hamza has said that last month's inflation has impoverished citizens.
He has said that only for road and food expenses, a public sector worker is spent 200 euros on the 400-euro salary.
We need to understand that the social situation of our people is not good. An average salary of 400 euros of a civil servant, 200 euros do not cover the needs of food expenses and the road to work”, Hamza has said.
Mitrovica's first said the wage value is smaller.
Kosovo citizens nominally receive the same salaries, but their salaries are actually of lesser value. Perhaps today you can't afford to buy articles at 150 euros as much as you bought two to three years ago with 100 euros”, Hamza said.
He said “tat is required a minimum saving the real value of the money”
We remember that according to the AKS, annual inflation in Kosovo by August 2022 has reached 13 percent. This growth of inflation translates with the price increases of many food products in Kosovo this year. And compared to July 2022, inflation in August rose by 0.2 percent. The overall harmonised consumer prices index is higher at an average of 13.0% in August 2022, compared to August 2021.
