The film “In search of Venera” is Kosovo's candidate for Oscars 2023 (VIDEO)

Besides successful travel at festivals, the search for Venera represents authenticity, but also thematic diversity that Kosovo cinema deals with in recent years. The film is unprecedented to watch from a distance until at the same time it connects you to each character. We believe that the world needs authentic filmmakers, and the approach and language of Norika Sefa makes the film a worthy candidate for this race. Kosovo's selection committee responsible for the Kosovo candidate selection said”.

The film features the quiet teenager Venera (played by Kosovare Krasniqi), who lives in a small town in Kosovo. At home, where three generations live together in a small house, it has no privacy at all, the Kosovo Clan broadcasts.

The selection committee approved by the Oscar Awards Academy was made up of kineasts from Kosovo: Ismet Sijarina, Blerta Bashalli, Samir Karahoda, Visar Morina, Alban Uka, Valmira Hyseni, and Enis Saraci.

The “In search of Venera” is co-production between Kosovo and Northern Macedonia, supported by the Kosovo Cinematographic Centre, the North Macedonia Film Agency, the Pristina municipality and the Kachanic municipality.
