Doarsa Kica-Jeli: I don't feel insulted and let go of my weaknesses

She at the meeting of the LDK's Women's Forum General Council has said she does not feel insulted by her, as she said, that others tried to show her reasons for leaving the Gexo List.

“I'm in front of you today at the LDK FG as an LDK woman. The days that went by, the others tried to tell my truth that had nothing to do with me. And I'm convinced it won't be the last time I'm convinced I'm far away from being the only woman in this room that someone else tried to show her own biography. I absolutely don't feel insulted and let go more weakened by anyone who thinks a woman's biography in Kosovo can be shown by others. I will not allow each woman's biography in Kosovo to be reduced by society and the justice system”, Kica-Jeli has said.

The LDK woman's forum has expressed concern over the growing number of violence against women and called on party structures to be included in drafting the political platform for empowering women by the motto “Gra empowered, the powerful state”.

Hykmete Bajrami from the Democratic League of Kosovo has cited the large percentage of women who are not active in the labour market as concerns. She has said that she must constantly work to improve her wife's position in society.

Another shocking statistic that we face in all official reports is that 80% of women are neither active in the labour market, which means they don't even require work. This is really shocking. What does that mean? Our girls are being educated, somebody's doing a university and they're prefering to stay home, to serve tea. Of course not. That's not the answer we can get. These women and girls have been forced since they become mothers to end their careers. And that's because we have substatic problems that we have to deal with systematically, improve the position of the woman in the society, and so that we can advance our society and have obvious, social progress”, Bajrami said.

The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has invited women of the LDK forum to join him at meetings he will hold in municipalities, which he called a new round of visits to Kosovo.

He has said that, along with LDK women, he will speak with Kosovo citizens, listen to their problems and show them the commitment to making Kosovo an equal country for all.

“Mbi 318 thousand students are not continuing school teaching, but almost every Kosovo family is unable to organise its daily operation because of the situation created in schools. Over 25 thousand teachers around Kosovo are threatening financial sanction because there is no dialogue with them. Kosovo families are experiencing the worst price expensive in Kosovo's modern history. The inadequacy of living takes a round of blows almost every day in less than a year and a half each of our citizens has lost a fifth of their purchasing power. While we're at the mercy of social panic schemes, we'll think of today's inadequacy for the hard winter to come Kosovo. In all of this, over 600,000 workers have left Kosovo in the first six months of this year”, the LDK leader has said.

Otherwise, MP Doarsa Kica-Gelly has left the Guxo List, the Parliamentary Group of the Vetevendosje Movement, respectively. In this regard, Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has reacted, which the removal of Kica-Jelli has seen as treason against citizens.
