Mimoza Ahmetaj, former minister of Kosovo's European Integrations, has said that appeals to Kosovo institutions, so that the day visa is liberalised they seek forgiveness according to her, for holding the issue hostage for Kosovo citizens for so many years.
Ahmetaj, in the special edition in Klan Kosova, said the current government cannot credit this contribution to itself, as according to her, all work on meeting the criteria for visa liberalisation has been fulfilled in the past years.
I would appeal to the Kosovo government and institutions and ask them on the day when EU institutions will confirm visa liberalisation, to apologise before Kosovo citizens for holding hostage for so many years on mediocre issues that Kosovo citizens do not move freely”.
When we got the green light from the commission and from the European Parliament, we were in the group together with Georgia and Ukraine. So many years after, these states move freely while we are trapped right now by current political leaders, who on personal issues and on the matter of making mediocre politics, have kept citizens isolated”, she has said.
