The Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection (KOMF), which represents 34 non-governmental organisations, triggers the strike in education and the lack of a solution to the start of teaching for already two weeks, has submitted to the Government of Kosovo demand that, under the dialogue, all parties, especially children and parents, who, according to them, are directly damaged by the break of teaching.
“The KOMF considers that the approach of talks by only two sides (the government and SBASK) is bypassing and forgetting the best interest of children, the right to education and the damage already caused to children”.
A dialogue with the involvement of children, parents and other parties would ensure that the child's best interest is primary consideration throughout the process. KOMF proposes that in this joint dialogue, the Government includes the acters as follows:
Representatives from the Government of the Republic of Kosovo;
Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Information;
Representatives of the United Education, Science and Culture Union;
Representatives of the Kosovo Student Council;
Representatives from the Kosovo Parents' Council;
Representatives of the Council of Teachers;
Representatives of the College of Schools and Gardens;
ombudsman institution;
Coalition NGOs for Child Protection;
The KEPF calls for an emergency meeting with the involvement of all sides. That involvement would ensure transparency in the talks, hear the concerns of all parties, and find the best and sustainable solutions for all, particularly for children”, the report said.
