Mrak” is the film directed by Dusan Miliq, which was proposed by Serbia's Film Centre for the grand Oscar Award, for the foreign film category, writes Serbian media.
Even the content of the film, but also the introduction “Kosovo and Metohia” has not prevented the jury from voting on this film, even though the whole jury was made up of Serbian art figures and cinematography.
The description of this film is said to be located within a Serb family, isolated in a Kosovo and Metohija enclave.
“Filmi ʹErlanda] follows several days of life of a family in an isolated enclave in Kosovo and Metohija. With tension, atmosphere, skillful film language, and horror elements, the film introduces us to a world of fear and uncertainty in which three generations of a family try to maintain the appearance of a normal life. Due to strong emotions, the universality of the theme and characters, the commission believes the film will successfully communicate with international audiences and members of the American Academy of Arts and Film Sciences”, the Serbian Film Centre's choice Commission says.
In the top three roles are Danica Qurciq, Slavko Shupac and Mio Ilov. Slavko Shzac has also played the role of Bosko Buha, a Serbian child turned hero during World War II for the fight against Germans
The 95th American Film Academy Awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on 12 March, 2023.
