Biden administration will not send long-range weapons towards Ukraine, at least for now

The US president's administration, Joe Biden, appears to not change its approach to Ukraine in the fight against Russia, said sources for CNN, and is currently rejecting some of Ukraine's requests for weapons -- even though Ukrainian forces have scored big victories and have returned [...]
US officials generally see Ukraine's moment as evidence that the types of weapons and intelligence that the West has offered towards Ukraine has been effective. They also have doubts that it is still too early for Ukraine's recent progress to be called a turning point, warning that Russia is still far from being a military-expensive force.
Officials do not believe that the view on the battlefield has changed enough to order a dramatic change of strategy in the short term, despite the recent demands of Ukrainian lawmakers for more tanks and missile systems towards the Pentagon. Ukrainian MPs believe these shipments would help maintain the tempo and preserve the territory Ukrainian forces have regained.
But, at least, for the time being, the United States is not ready to supply Ukrainian forces with Takketore Systems, which has been applied for months, officials told CNN.
These tactical systems have a radius of up to 200 miles [300 km]. The administration still feels that these sending these systems could be worsening because they could be used to attack Russia. For now, the maximum range of weapons the United States has sent to Ukraine is about 50 miles [80 km]. /Periscopi/
