But his father, Grame McConnell, was surprised when James received a letter from Buckingham Palace on Friday, September 9, a day after Elizabeth II died.
What made the letter even more sad was that it dated the day she died.
The royal response contained a photograph of the late Queen and read: “I send you my grateful thanks for your kind message on the seventh anniversary of my entrance to From, Elizabeth R 2022”.
Father Grame said: “As soon as I was about to go out, the bells for the queen began to fall, when the letter came in through the door. It was very exciting. It was really touching.
James likes everything about the queen. He realizes the queen is dead and she's gone to live in heaven. Must have been one of the last letters ER”, McConnell made it known.
There would have been a lady who works in the palace who sent her. But James thinks she sat down and wrote this letter before she died. I don't want to ruin this moment for that”, Grame added away.
