During an address in the late hours of August 29th, Zelensky pledged that Ukrainian troops would follow the Russian Army “to border”.
If they want to survive it's time for the Russian Army to leave. Go home”, he said.
“Ukrainian is regaining its territory”, Zelensky stressed.
Earlier, presidential adviser Olexiy Arestovych, through a video message, said Ukrainian forces are promoting the ferries that Russian forces are using to supply a portion of the territory occupied in the western dengue of the Dnieper River, in the region of Herson.
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Ukraine's offensive has only had an impact on Russian Army capabilities, as it has forced Moscow soldiers to reposition and some Russian units to the east have been severely damaged.
“Because the Russians had to receive sources from the east only because of reports that Ukrainians could conduct a more offensive to the south of”, Kirby told reporters on August 29th.
The Russian Defence Ministry acknowledged Ukraine has launched new offensive, but insisted that this offensive has failed, claiming that Russian forces have caused numerous casualties on the Ukrainian side.
These claims of the Russian Defence Ministry have not been independently verified.
From Russian grants in the port city of Mikolajov, which is still under Ukrainian control despite Russian bombings, at least two people were killed and 24 others injured, local officials and witnesses said.
Meanwhile, inspectors from the International Nuclear Energy Agency have started to inspect the Zaporija plant, which is under Russian control.
This plant fell to the Russians several days after Russia began its invasion of Ukraine on February 24th.
Recent wars around the Zaporija plant ) that is the largest in Europe have raised fears of any nuclear incident.
The UN agency's inspectors team will assess the damage to Zaporija's nuclear building and determine the functionality of security systems, the agency said.
As for diplomatic aspect, the European Union defence ministers are meeting in Prague on August 30th, and their talks are expected to focus on establishing a programme for training Ukrainian soldiers.
