Former US President Donald Trump says Ukraine should have made an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin to avoid the massive loss of life and destruction that has occurred since Russian troops began the invasion in late February.
Trump reiterated what he said earlier, especially in the latest rally, that the invasion would never have happened if he had been president, writes Newsmax, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
You know, someone said: “well, what would you do?” I said we shouldn't do anything. [Putini] wouldn't have done it with me. He wouldn't have done that. At least, [Ukraine] should have made a deal”.
“Ukrainian could have given up Crimea. They could have done something with NATO, OK, we wouldn't have joined NATO and you would have had a seat because I believe Putin wanted to make a deal”, Trump said.
Trump said he believes Putin no longer wants to make a deal.
I think it's much harder to make a deal. He's blowing up the whole place. I mean, he'll take over the whole place. And it's very, very sad to see what happened to Ukraine. Very, very sad”
