Tehran said Salman Rushdie was guilty of the knife attack on him, while Washington criticised the Iranian state media for the <x0-tensive” response to the “that seriously injured Rushdeen.
In his first reaction to the knife attack, Tehran said on August 15th that it denies “in a categoryally” any connection to the attack that occurred three days ago in New York state.
Rusdie was removed from the fan on August 14th and was able to speak after having suffered severe stab wounds. He was attacked while speaking on a panel for freedom of expression at the Shatakua Institute.
Initially, Tehran had kept silent about the attack, but US Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned the Iranian state media for their reaction.
The Iranian state institutions, for generations, have triggered violence against Rushdie, and the recently linked media have enjoyed the attack on his life”, Blinken said through a statement published in the late hours of August 14th.

The attacker who is being charged with attacking the author of the novel against saying “Satanic Wargs” has been declared innocent of acts: attempted murder and assault. But prosecutors said it was a planned crime.
The assailant's lawyer, Hades Matar, said his client is declared innocent. A judge has ordered him kept in custody, without the possibility of parole.
Rusdie, 75, has suffered liver damage and has been damaged by some nerves in her arm and eyes. He will likely lose sight of the hurt eye.
For years, Rushdie has faced death threats because of his novel, “Satanic Wars”, which many Muslims view as blasphemy.
Matar, 24, is accused of attacking Rusdie author at the Shatakua Institute stage and stabbed him at least 10 times in the face, neck, and boat.
