Switzerland Leads to Framework Agreement for Recognition of Pensions With Albania

The Swiss government has just brought the Social Insurance Agreement between Albania and Switzerland to parliament for approval.
The Swiss Federal Council, at the meeting of August 24th 2022, has submitted for approval to Parliament “The Social Security Agreement between the Republic of Albania and Switzerland's Confederate”, which was signed on February 18th 2022, in Tirana by Switzerland's Minister for Internal Affairs, Alain Berset and RS Finance and Economy Minister Deline Ibrahimaj, the prime minister Edi Rama reports.
The agreement between Albania and Switzerland is mainly aimed at co-ordinating the pension of old age, disability status, survivors, ensures equal treatment of those provided, disciplines the pouring out of contributions abroad, and avoids cases of double taxation or abuse.
Albania's Assembly has ratified this agreement on July 22nd, and after ratification by the Swiss Parliament clears the way for the start of implementation of the agreement. / T CH
