The punishment 11-year-old rapists, Koci, may face: Young people are sentenced to over 10 years in prison

Three of the rape suspects reportedly are under 18 years old, and for them Koci said that under law there could be a prison sentence of over 10 years.

The minor in no case can be punished for more than 10 years”, Koci said.

The lawyer reiterated that despite circumstances and deeds, a minor in Kosovo cannot be sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.

“Madje under 14 years of age has no criminal responsibility at all”, he said.

Koci told two suspects who are over 18 years old, if the work is proven, the sentence of 15 years in minimum prison is predicted to be life imprisonment.

In these over 18 years, if proven, 15 years is minimum until life imprisonment. Now that's where concrete circumstances --” -- Koci said.

The lawyer stressed that his analysis of the case has had many questions, while repeating his suspicion that someone else is involved in the case as well.
