Police: The decision on equipment with the exit document is being implemented, Jarinje and Brnjak are closed

Kosovo police report that the decision on equipment with the document for entry and exit of citizens who possess personal identification documents issued by Serbia's authorities, who are submitted for the state border crossing of the Republic of Kosovo, has begun to be implemented at the country level. As Jarinje and Brnjak continue to be closed for circulation.

On the other hand, police report that after the roadblocks in northern Mitrovica, in four cases there have been shootings of gunfire in the direction of police units, as well as in one case it has been heard of an explosion. Fortunately, no citizens or police officers injured by the firearm are reported.

Also reported are four cases where Albanian citizens who circulated in that section have been banned and tortured, causing injuries and the causing of material damage to their vehicles, on the part of suspected persons.

Kosovo police, under official duty and legal authorisations, are continuing their commitments in providing security, maintaining order and public security, implementing decisions of RKS institutions, as well as undertaking police measures to conform the situation and developments in northern Mitrovica.

The decision on equipment with the document for entry and exit of citizens who possess personal identification documents issued by Serbia's authorities, who are submitted to the state border crossing of the Republic of Kosovo, is beginning to be implemented at the country's level.

The two Jarinje and Bernjak border points continue to remain closed for circulation, due to the continuation of the roadblocks towards these two border crossings, which are made by heavy means of individuals/organised criminal groups.

Official information confirms that yesterday, in 31.07,2022 after the roadblocks in North Mitrovica, in four cases there have been shootings in front of police units, as well as in one case it has been heard of a explosion. Fortunately, no citizens or police officers injured by the firearm are reported.

So far, four cases have been reported where Albanian citizens who circulated in that section have been banned and tortured, causing injuries and causes of material damage to their vehicles, by persons suspected of being part of roadblock organisation.

Kosovo police will take all further actions in co-operation and co-ordination with justice bodies.
