Nurses dissatisfied with the new wage bill, warn they will send him to Constitutional Court

Their enormous demand to be promoted the same as physical therapists and logos, continues to be key to this law.

The chairman of the nurses' union, midwives and other professionals, Progress Berisha, says expectations are not good for the new wage law.

Although it says there is improvement compared to past law, Berisha for Kosova Prees, says their demands will address in the Federation of Health Unions within 10 days.

Our expectations are almost not good, as we have hoped, we are promoted to a little better and more money, a little better than the previous law. However, the difference is still between nurses and fizeoterraputs and logos, where they've been promoted to cofficients 6, and nurses with 5.6.

Nurses are divided into three groups in primary, secondary, and digestive service, but with doctors we don't have such a division...

They've demanded that they be equal to the logos, the physical therapists with coefytes 6 because according to nurses, they also have 180 accredit points of Bachelor schooling, just like the physical therapists and the logos...

The difference is about 50 euros... it has shown dissatisfaction not because of the monetary means, but because of the promotion, the work of nurses who they think is far more serious than physical therapists and logos. You have seen the primary role of nurses and the service of the sick” in the pandemic, Berisha said.

He warns that if their demands are not addressed in time then even this law will end in the Constitutional Court, like the previous one.

The previous “Your name has been very bad, and for this reason we have sent to the Constitutional Court through the ombudsman, I hope that this time our demands will not be met in deaf ears and will be taken into account and will be adjusted from now on without going to first reading so that then there will be no more union actions like protests or sending to the Constitutional Court and return to zero point again.

We are for this law to continue to proceed, but always considering our demands... if we are not to consider again we will always submit the law to the Constitutional Court in case there are requests from nurses, doctors and other supporting services”, the chairman of the Infermies Union stressed.

The health system in Kosovo continues to face lack of nurses and the departure of health professionals from the country.

Berisha says that only until early July of this year, 400 nurses have left Kosovo.

He added that as a result of the nurses' escape, there are reductions in health services.
