Democratic Party of Kosovo headship member Bernard Nikaj, at a media conference, has called for responsibility and accountability from the Kurti Government for energy crisis management inability, which has influenced Kosovo citizens from today to face energy reductions.
Nikaj said that this six-hour current and 2-free current situation in mid-August is the capital failure of the unrecognised street logic of Albin Kurti, which has imposed even higher prices for electricity and reductions.
“Unfortunately, in a country with unable governance, depressive and irresponsible, such as Albin Kurti's government, it's nothing less than manifestation of mismanagement, which, for the fact that it's happening now when it doesn't even have to be imagined, risks becoming the norm, when we can expect to exacerbate the situation with electricity supply during the winter of<1>, he said.
According to Nikaj, the darkness with which Kosovo citizens are being served today is the product of a systematic failure of the several-month-old cardinal management of KEK on the part of the government, which has been silenced against the situation despite each citizen of Kosovo being affected by its awareness due to reductions.
Kosovo's “Energy Corporation is the same one, which in particular in the summer months, with its production capacities managed to cover the need for energy consumption without having to reduce. However, on August 15th 2022, in the middle of the summer, Kosovo citizens are in the dark. Therefore, responsible for this situation, they are not KEK workers. Responsible for this situation, it is another factor and it is the government of Kosovo, which, with access to KEK management, without planning, without courage and without any idea how to manage the energy sector, has brought about work to revive it from collective arrest, the doctrine of reducing electricity”, Nikaj stressed.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo considers it unforgivable for Kosovo citizens to learn in the evening that tomorrow there will be no electricity and that in the optimum terms of electricity production there will be reductions.
“Even last year's autumn, we have constantly warned of energy supply challenges during the winter. These warnings fell on the deaf ears of the current government, which took nothing but simply ignored the situation. Even this year, we've been warning the deepening energy crisis for more than two months and have recommended what action needs to be taken. Again, the government has done nothing but recently started to confirm what we said earlier that this winter will be even heavier than last winter. Today, too, we have to stress that winter is coming and if summer is ending in darkness, then winter will find us in darkness but without heat and high prices. And the blame for this crisis is only government”, Nikaj said.
