According to data from the Institute for Public Health of Serbia “Dr. Milan Jovanovic Batut”, on July 26th, were 10 patients, and 23 cases were recorded on August 5th. All infected are males aged 22 to 44.
The largest number of infected persons in Serbia has been registered in Belgrade. The City Institute of Public Health stated that out of 20 cases recorded in Belgrade, local broadcasting was confirmed at nine, infection through contact with a sick person in Serbia.
In late July, the World Health Organization declared the monkey's smallpox epidemic a health emergency.
So far, almost 27,000 cases of disease have been confirmed in 88 countries, mainly in males who have had sex with males.
Monkey line is a wandering disease in Central and West Africa.
