From Brussels they have confirmed that Lajcak in Pristina meets President Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, opposition party leaders and political representatives of Kosovo Serbs. The last meeting is learned to take place in Mitrovica.
Meanwhile in Belgrade, Lajcak has a meeting with President Aleksandar Vuciq, and the director of the Serbian government office for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic.
From the EU office in Brussels, they have said this emissary mission becomes “in order to advance towards a mutually satisfactory solution to avoid new tensions on the ground”.
In all this agenda, Lajcak will be accompanied by US counterpart Gabriel Escobar, who is a special US envoy to the Western Balkans.
Their visit comes after increasing tensions between Kosovo and Serbia due to reciprocity with documents and license plates that must be converted by those that Belgrade releases KM,PR and others in what is provided by Kosovo institutions RKS.
On 18 August, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, spoke for hours in Brussels with EU mediation, but an agreement was not reached.
