“We want to assure everyone that KFOR-I is ready to intervene if there is a need for”, KFOR told Tanjug.
KFOR's move comes as it approaches September 1st, when measures of reciprocity for documents and car signs are expected to take effect according to the Government's decision of the Republic of Kosovo,
These reciprocity measures were designed to take effect from August 1st, yet the implementation was postponed with American Ambassador Hovenier's directive, as a result of tensions sparked in the north by parallel structures and barricades imposed by Serbs guided by Vuciqi's power.
An urgent meeting in Brussels has also been called for the situation, amid Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Alexander Vuciq. Despite several hours of negotiations, the end has resulted without any agreement. As reported, more meetings are expected before September 1st.
