The US State Department has announced that an American citizen has died in Ukraine.
Furthermore, officials are reportedly in contact with the victim's family and are offering consular assistance, Aljazeera writes.
“We also repeat once again that American citizens should not travel to Ukraine because of the active armed conflict and the exclusion of American citizens in Ukraine from Russian government security officials, and that American citizens in Ukraine should leave immediately if it is safe to do so, using any commercial or private-depositable land transport option”, a spokesman said.
Also after months of warnings for Americans to leave Ukraine, the White House said the US would not facilitate the movement of American citizens” within the country, as the State Department renews warnings and says increased Russian attacks could occur soon.
