An Italian island has decided to make some drastic moves to attract new residents to its rural areas.
In short, after parts of Italy had already decided to pay people and in that way attract them, they followed the same route to Sardinia.
Sardinia, the second largest Mediterranean island, is known for some of the largest and most uncensed beaches in Europe.
With culture - filled cities, a large number of sunny days a year, and one of the greatest numbers of people who have celebrated their centenarian birthdays, it is hard to imagine many other places on the planet that would be more pleasant to live in.
However, as you can imagine, there are more than a few things to be done in order to get your money in hand.
The money must be used to buy or renew a house, and to meet the requirements, you have to live in a municipality in Sardinia with less than three thousand people and then 15 thousand euros will be added to your account.
The good news is you don't have to pay back the money after you get it, as they aim to fight rural migration and provide economic incentives for existing residents.
In total, about 47m euros have been earmarked for the project, which will suffice for at least three thousand families to make the most of it, broadcast Croatian media.
