The French government has set up a team to address a historic drought that has left more than 100 municipalities without drinking water.
The environment minister has indicated that special truck water is being taken to these areas after the pipelines are dry.
A prime minister's report reportedly is the worst drought registered in France and that this situation is expected to continue for at least two weeks, in 93 regions, Report BBC.
The state energy company has reduced production to several nuclear power plants, as river temperatures are too high to ensure sufficient cooling.
There is fear that drought, hitting almost all continental France, will reduce crops, exacerbating the food crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.
The heat wave that has baked France since June has caused trees and bushes to release leaves early, creating autumn - visible scenes.
In July, France had only 9.7m of rain, making it dryer months since March 1961. Much of the northwest and southeast of France has been banned from irrigation in order to preserve water.
