Firefighters from all over Europe have begun arriving in France to help extinguish some wild fires.
France is facing fires, in private, with several giant forest fires in the southwest of the country.
The brigade of firefighters from the French region of Zironde said that at night they have managed to limit the spread of forest fires because there is little wind. But the weather conditions for fire control are still negative “” due to hot and dry weather.
Since Tuesday, fires in the Zironde and Landes regions have destroyed more than 74 square miles [74 sq km].
Because of fires, at least 10,000 people have been evacuated from these two regions.
Over 360 firefighters and 100 specialised cars have been sent to France from Germany, Romania, Poland and Austria. They will join over 1,000 French firefighters who are fighting forest fires. Greece has also announced it will send two jets to extinguish fires.
Sweden has also sent two jets to extinguish several fires in the Bretanja region in western France. /rel
