Energy in Albania: Privates exceeded state corporation, produced more electricity

Official data for the first half of this year shows that domestic energy production in Albania was up to 3.66 million MWh, of which KESH produced only 1.7 million MWh. The rest belongs to independent producers such as Devol Hydropower with his two HECs, [...]
Meanwhile, the rest of the private production occupy the HECs, which according to the contract sell the distribution energy. Net domestic production this year is 40 per cent less than a year ago, reflecting this way on the poor, hysteric year in which the country is located.
Conusmi, on the other hand, registered a level of 4.25 million MWh, which indicates that total production could cover only 80 percent of consumption. The latter has experienced a slight increase in a report a year ago that the figure is almost insensitive.
On liberalized Market K ESH, tasked with providing the needed energy for Free Market Supplier (part of O) SHEE Group has received about 18 percent of the energy needed for consumption.
During this year, energy prices in the stock exchange have reached frightening levels where at times a MWh of energy is being traded to 700-750 euros, while prices at the Hungarian Stock Exchange, which our country has referenced through July and August have mostly fluctuated between 350-500 euros/ MWh.
The public company has had to spend hundreds of millions of euros to secure the energy needed for consumption, while by the end of this year the bill is expected to increase further by increasing pressure on company finances and the government's need to continue supporting it.
The latter stated a few months ago that it would see the price increase option for those who consume on a specific bandage that was initially said to be 700 kWh and then 800 kWh. This initiative relates to an attempt to discourage consumption, but that no concrete decision has been made so far. /Monitor. al
