After the agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia for the broadcast of IDs, the US State Department has been declared for Gazette Express.
In their response, the US reportedly believes the two countries through dialogue will reach a comprehensive agreement that will end with normalising relations between the two countries and unblock their European future.
“These issues are being addressed through a facilitated EU dialogue, which the United States supports. We believe that Dialogue is a channel and a mechanism through which Serbia and Kosovo reach an inclusive agreement that will end with normalising relations between the two countries that will unblock the European future for both countries”, a UN spokesman says.
In addition, the US State Department says dialogue has greatly influenced the resolution of disputes between Kosovo and Serbia.
“Meanwhile, while Dialogue has that strategic focus, it has also proved to be a very important and very flexible mechanism for resolving disputes”. According to them, by the end of the month, based on the commitment of both sides and the EU's special minister for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, they will find a way to continue dialogue peacefully to move forward.
So, I expect that by the end of the month, based on the commitments of both sides and on the hard work of the Special Representative for the European Union, we will find a way to move forward peacefully”, the spokesman stressed.
We remember that today, EU Foreign Policy High Representative Josep Borrell has indicated that Kosovo and Serbia have reached free-of-charge agreements in both countries. Serbia has decided to allow Kosovars to travel through its territory. The Kosovo side has agreed.
