Hundreds of troops and artillery were involved in Taiwan's nearly an hour-long military exercises.
Such training was held on the southern part of the island. Taiwan had held similar training in the same area on August 9th.
Taiwan's military said both exercises were scheduled earlier and were not held in response to Beijing's actions.
Tensions in this area have increased after last week the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelsoi, along with a delegation from the US Congress, visited Taiwan.
Pelosi is the top American official to have visited Taiwan Island in decades.
China claims Taiwan is its province and refuses to rule out the use of force to regain control of the island.
China and Taiwan were divided during the 1940 civil war.
Reports between Beijing and Taipei have deteriorated separately since 2016, when Tsai Ing-wen became Taiwan's president with a platform that does not recognise Beijing's claims on this self-government island. / REL/
