China has said it will conduct new military exercises in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea following the exercises it has conducted around Taiwan in recent days.
Training around Taiwan has been an answer to the visit that the House of Representatives leader in the United States has made to this island, Nancy Pelosi.
The Chinese ministry has considered Peloss' visit to Taiwan to be “scandalous approval”.
Pelosi is the highest American official to visit this island in the last 25 years.
White House Media Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre has said that Pelos has had “any right” to go to Taiwan and that China's measures are “essentially irresponsible”.
Although the United States does not officially recognise Taiwan, it maintains strong ties to the island, including the sale of weapons with the aim of territorial protection.
Taiwan has accused China of simulating the invasion of the island, which Beijing considers its own.
A senior Chinese Army analyst has said on Sunday that China will now conduct regular “ <x1) military exercises near Taiwan.
China considers Taiwan a province that will once be controlled by Beijing.
But Taiwan is the island that guides itself and considers itself separate from China.
Training around Taiwan was designed to end at noon Sunday, but neither China nor Taiwan have confirmed anything like that. / REL
