UN chief: World a step away from nuclear annihilation

United Nations leader (OKB) has warned that the world is a step away from “nuclear annihilation” and faces unprecedented dangers since the Cold War.

Antonio Guterres said Monday that the <x0humanisation is away from nuclear annihilation just for a misunderstanding”.

He made comments during a conference on the ten-year Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT), which aims to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and eventually be a world without nuclear weapons.

In his opening speech, Guterres said the meeting delayed by the pandemic, which aims to review the historic agreement, was taking place between the nuclear risk “not seen since the end of the Cold War”.
