Ceku: KFOR has minimal presence at Decani Monastery

Culture Minister Hajrula Ceku said Serbia is misusing Orthodox Churches and Manuals in Kosovo, as is the case with the Decani Monastery.

Ceku on the T7 Frontal Show said KFOR itself has a symbolic presence near the Decani Monastery because their security reports speak of visible security improvements.

The Decani “Decani Manister continues to be the last point of a hopeless battle that Serbia makes in Kosovo by misusing Orthodox churches and monasteries in our country. With all reports of the Kosovo police but KFOR talking about an absolute calm almost of the security situation in our country or a very minimal presence before the Decani Monastery because KFOR itself and their reports speak of improvement markedly in proportion to what it was in 2004”, he said.

Minister Ceku further said Kosovo police have separate units offering security to Orthodox churches and monasteries.

However, Serbia refuses to accept that reality in Kosovo has changed to security-related reality, police today have a special unit to offer security to all Orthodox churches and monasteries in Kosovo, and a number of members are Kosovo Serbs. Kosovo has the most advanced model in the legal world and institutional protection of minorities, and especially for the protection of Orthodox churches in Kosovo”, he said.
