Russia's war in Ukraine is expected to enter a new phase, as fighting may focus on the 350km territory that crosses the city of Zaporija and Herson, Great Britain's military intelligence said on Saturday.
Russian forces are probably gathering south of Ukraine, pending an counterattack, or are making preparations for another attack, the British Defence Ministry has said through a tweet.
Long convoys of Russian trucks and military tanks, with artillery and other weapons, continue to flee the Donba region of Ukraine and are moving southwestern.
The battalion's tactical groups, comprised of 800 to 1,000 troops, have committed to the Crime and possibly used to offer support to Russian troops in the Herson region, British authorities have said.
According to them, Ukraine's forces are putting the focus on bridges, ammunition depots and railway lines that are important for southern regions, including lines linking Herson and Russia's occupied Crime.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.
He calls the war <x0 special military operation” to demilitarise Ukraine.
The West has responded to Russia, striking the economy of this state with severe sanctions. / REL
