Biden invites Russia's China to negotiate nuclear weapons control

In a statement, he reiterated that his administration is ready for “s quick economics” to replace New START, the treaty that expires in 2026 restricts the amount of interccircular nuclear weapons of the United States and Russia.

“Russia must show it is ready to continue working on nuclear weapons control”, Biden said.

“But negotiations require a firm and goodwill partner. The gross and unprohibited Russian aggression against Ukraine has marred peace in Europe and is an attack on the fundamental principles of international rule”, he added.

Regarding China, which has strengthened its much smaller nuclear arsenal, Biden said Beijing has an obligation, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, “participates in negotiations that would reduce the risk of miscalculation and face destabilising military dynamics. ”

No country or world will benefit from rejecting an important commitment to gun control and nuclear nonproliferation, he said.

He noted that nuclear superpowers, primarily Russia and the US, have the responsibility to be an example of how to ensure the sustainability of the treaty for nonproliferation of nuclear weapons (NPT), which should prevent the spread of nuclear weapons technology in the world.
