For Klan Kosova she indicated that the idea of this came after she had visited Kosovo and that almost everyone from civil society had asked when liberalisation would happen.
So far over 16 thousand signatures have been collected, and according to Schneeberger, this figure will increase in the days to come.
An initiative like this to carry weight to European Union officials takes about a million signatures. Online petition is Chang.org é Visa liberalisation for the Republic of Kosovo”.
France, which is blocking this process, remains and is not in the democratic European spirit. I don't know why France is so skeptical about this, only President Macron knows the reasons, although Kosovo has already fulfilled all the criteria, and the European Commission's recommendation, which was also supported by the European Parliament, to abolish Kosovars. And it's unacceptable that there's only one country left who's using it to block everything. I call on France to decide differently and to liberalise Kosovo visas now”.
Austria added that it is not in the European spirit to block an entire population of about two million people and that it hopes the decision will be made in the autumn, when the European Union summit will be held.
“We will continue to pressure on this thing”, Katty Schneberger concluded.
