These comments, the head of the Serbian state, followed a meeting with US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill in Belgrade. In announcing the Serbian presidency, the focus of the two officials' talks was the situation in the region, last week's round of dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, and bilateral co-operation.
Vucic has tried to clarify Serbia's Hill positions he represents in the dialogue with Pristina. He insisted that he is participating in dialogue with “responsibility and constructiveity”, but added that Serbs living in Kosovo “are unconditionally seeking” forming the Association of Serb majority municipalities.
Significantly, according to the Serbian president, it is Pristina to stick to the agreement that Kosovo Special Forces can move north only with the consent of NATO and the heads of four Serb-run municipalities.
The agreement itself, meanwhile, envisions Kosovo seeking the consent of the north-Atlantic alliance for entry only to the Kosovo Armed Forces (FSK).
At the last summit in Brussels, which was held on 18 August, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Vuciq failed to reach a deal on these issues. / TCH
