Warning to the British Embassy: We will use all arsenal to sever political-crime ties

The United Kingdom Embassy in Pristina has said that in the coming months they will use a wide range of British arsenals to continue fighting crime and corruption in the Western Balkan region.

From the embassy, they have said that this is the last move within a package of actions aimed at promoting accountability and ending the phenomenon of impunity in the region.

The United Kingdom is stepping up our efforts to break up ties between politics and crime in the Western Balkans. It is the latest under a series of actions aimed at promoting accountability and ending impunity in the region. In the coming months, we will use the entire range of our arsenal to continue the fight against crime and corruption”, Gazeta Express told the United Kingdom Embassy in Pristina.

Similar actions months ago were undertaken by the United States Treasury Office, where it sanctioned one of the key figures of the Serbian List, Milan Radojicic, along with several other names operating in the north of the Republic of Kosovo.

Also through an executive order signed by the President of the United States, sanctions have been warned against all politicians who promote destabilisation and work against agreements that have so far been reached in the Western Balkans.

In this executive order Joe Biden says that “needs to block properties and interests on the properties of any person for whom the Treasury Secretary, in consultation with the Secretary of State, has concluded that he undermines the processes or democratic institutions, or regional agreements or framework for security, peace, co-operation, mutual recognition, or accountability mechanisms, are involved in serious human rights violations, or directly involved in corruption<1>.
