Meschcheriakova has said of the “The Geopost” that the tattoo has taken on account of the solidarity she has with the Albanian nation and Kosovo in particular.

Speaking to Kosovo, she said that “by Russian and Serbian propaganda had heard untruth about Kosovo”.

“This is not my first time here, for all other journalists is the first time in Kosovo. The first time was 2011, when I studied in Vienna, southeast studies, and there I learned Albanian. I still can't speak well. I took an interest in the situation here, the bad situation, because I remember that in the Ukrainian media, they described it completely differently, and I was very curious about this”, she said.

Mescheriakova has also indicated the reason for coming to Kosovo.

Why did we know the story differently? And I came here, I talked to a lot of people here, and I realized that I was a victim of Russian propaganda, as it were, Serbian propaganda”, the Ukrainian journalist said.

Following Russian aggression in Ukraine, the Kosovo government enabled the home of a number of Ukrainian journalists in Kosovo.

Lyudmila Makey, Daria Meschcheriakova, Lyudmila Mekh and Serhi Shevchenko now reside in Pristina.
