Ukraine preparing for new attacks after Russian promotions

Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky said on July 11th that Russian forces had carried out 34 air strikes over the past two days and that the number of dead in the attack on a five-story apartment building in the small town of Chasiv Yar had increased to 33 people, including at least one child.
The Ukrainian Army General Staff said Russian forces were using the grants as preparation for intensifying land hostilities to the east.
Ukrainian officials have called attacks on civilian targets in the region “war crimes” and have urged the West to increase the distribution of weapons needed to resist the attack.
The US-based Institute for War Research said Russia is regrouping its forces and that mass artillery attacks were intended to set conditions for future land advances.
Moscow denies it has targeted civilian sites, even in the face of evidence documented by videos and the almost total destruction of many of Ukraine's cities and towns. / REL
