The commitment undertaken by the end of last year when the budget was approved for 2022 was finalised today for the 6% wage hike of all pre-university education workers in Albania.
The decision was made known by Education and Sports Minister Evis Kushi, who stressed that the decision benefits 3700 teaching workers, including psycho-social employees and security workers, for the first time. Professional education, pre-school education, children's cultural centres and dormitories will also benefit.
Some 300,000 teachers, about 790 psychologists, social workers and security officers -- about 1,300 professional education employees depending on the Ministry of Finance and Economy -- and about 4410 employees of pre-school education institutions, cultural centres of children and school dormitories, depending on local self-government units.
The minister underlined that the assessment of teachers is not made only through the growth of salaries, but the assessment of teachers with meriticratic dignity is also through many other reforms undertaken from Albania's “teaching portal”, professional growth qualifications, and improved new working conditions in infrastructure, in laboratory equipment, etc.
The decision also includes increasing the value of paying schedules for hours provided by teachers on the standard approved by provision, on average 10%. / ATSH
