The realisation of capital projects through municipalities has caused clashes and debates between the head of the AAK Parliamentary Group and Finance, Labour and Transfers Minister Hekuran Murati.
MP Tahiri at today's parliamentary session said the government has blocked capital investments through municipalities, even the Minister of Murati called it a failure.
You're the most failed minister and Kurti government, you're slowly sinking it. Where's Drim Rojnik (Gjakov) Street? Not a cent did. Where's Pristina-Podujevo Road, you blocked it. You've been on election campaign. Three times the deputy minister has said it is done in December. Instead of arguing with arguments, you point out that we have list of wishes. I don't have a list of wishes, I never need you”, Murati stressed.
The minister, Murati, has responded to this statement, who said it is false what was raised by MP Tahiri.
Murati said that for capital projects across municipalities there are no blockades.
What I wanted to explain and argue is that there is no blockade from the central power over local government. Rather, we ask them to carry out the projects as quickly as possible so that the execution can be done by the previous deadline. As for additional support with list of projects, I understand that such a practice may have worked in the past when there are some coalitions in the government and then the mayors who have had the minister of the same party have been listed and the projects have been adopted, this does not happen, all treated equal to”, Murati said.
Initially the head of the AAK Parliamentary Group, Tahiri, has raised a concern that according to him are having Kosovo municipalities.
At the plenary session, Tahiri said capital investments have been blocked. He requested that the Government immediately address the municipality's demands in the budget review process.
“Today is raising a concern which comes from Kosovo municipalities, as capital investment projects and reports between the government and municipalities have never been more weakened in proportion to capital projects. First, the government urgently needs in the budget review process to address the real demands of Kosovo municipalities. What is known so far, capital investments in municipalities are blocked. The budgeting process for 2023 should be much more transparent and should not have political access”, Tahiri said.
According to him, no project delivered to ministries from municipalities has been answered
