President Ilir Meta has signed this Sunday protocol for the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO.
Meanwhile in its decree, the head of Albanian State emphasises that “the membership of these friendly countries is certainly a historic development and major strategic change, which is based on every step from Albania”.
President of the Republic, United States. Ilir Meta, has decreed with proclamation laws as follows:
No. 56/2022 “For ratification of the North Atlantic Treaty protocol for the adoption of the Republic of Finland”;

No. 57/2022 “For ratification of the North Atlantic Treaty protocol for the accession of the Kingdom of Sweden”.
The Republic of Albania has been closely following the domestic legal procedures regarding membership of the Republic of Finalde and the Kingdom of Sweden in NATO.
Membership of these friendly countries is certainly a historic development and major strategic change, which is based on every step from Albania.
We are convinced that their membership will affect strengthening the joint contribution to this alliance.
