The Kosovo Energy Corporation has reacted again after media reports that halting production in the A5 unit in the Kosova A thermal power plant was planned.
From this company, they have said that Block A5 has been stopped under the planned up-to-date revision for the second month in regular procedure by respecting technological guidelines, since it has worked over 76 days without interruption.
“In order to clear the right public opinion, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo report that the state of thermal power plants and blocs is as follows: The A5 block has been halted according to the up-to-date revision plan for the second month in regular procedure, respecting technological guidelines. In this regard, the A5 block has worked over 76 days without interruption, and the need for regular suspension and intervention has been presented.
Also, the production of this unit has already been replaced by deposits in KESH, and KEK is providing available capacity under plan”, said in response.

Today, Thursday, July 21st, 2022, by public information tools we have been informed that there have been distorted public reports and statements on the remont/remake of the A5 unit at KEK and institutions on their situation.
In order to clarify the right public opinion, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo report that the state of thermal power plants and blocs is as follows:
The A5 block has been halted according to the up-to-date revision plan for the second month in regular procedure, respecting technological guidelines. In this regard, the A5 block has worked over 76 days without interruption, and the need for regular suspension and intervention has been presented.
Also, the production of this unit has already been replaced by deposits in KESH, and KEK is providing available capacity under the plan.
In this regard, KEK calls on all sides to take an official position by KEK and not fall prey to speculation on the basis of non-official resources that, in addition to trying to undermine KEK's credibility, are trying to create and panic situation in the general public.
